ASHLEY OLSEN INSPIRED MAKEUP FEATURING BENEFIT THEY'RE REAL MASCARA

I was lacking a little inspiration in my current makeup routine as I stick to the normal basic 'everyday' summer look and to be honest, I'm really not very good at makeup or with imagination with it comes to makeup. I was flicking through some celebrity pictures and always have felt inspired by the Olsen Twins. I love the smokey copper eyes they do so famously well and the dewy light fresh skin with the chiseled cheek bones. I thought 'I want to recreate that but a little more .... everyday friendly'. And that's exactly what I've done! I'm going to show you a few pictures of the products I used and explain some of the techniques to get this everyday friendly Olsen twin look. This is just something I did to get a little more imagination in my daily makeup looks, I am no means an MUA so please don't take this too seriously but I hope it inspires some of you to try adapting makeup looks you see more.

To start with, you want to fresh dewy look to the face to get the perfect starting base. To get this, I applied my usual face care duo with at the moment I apply a few drops of the Estee Lauder Night Repair serum and a little of the Estee Lauder Day Wear Anti-Oxidant Face cream to give me the perfect base. I also apply a thin layer of the Body Shop Eye Gel to get rid of any puffiness and then apply a few dots of the Soap and Glory Hocus Focus which helps create the dewy look but also acts as a pore minimising primer. Along with my usual thin layer of the Estee Double Wear All-Day Glow BB cream to give a flawless, glowy skin combo. Next, conceal your dark circles and spots with any concealer to hand, I used my Estee Lauder Disappear Concealer under my eyes and the Mac Studio Concealer in shade NC15 to my red areas and any spots I have. You will the be left with a result similar to the image below.

In order to get the smokey eye look I used more brown shades, although in the photo Ashley Olsen has a more dramatic black smokey eye I wanted something a little less harsh. I applied Urban Decay's Naked 3 Pallette in the shade Factory all over my lid and under my waterline. In the corners of the eye I applied Darkside with a touch of Blackstar and blended that into the Factory shade. I also applied a small amount of this blended into my waterline again to create a uniform look. I then applied a few coats of the Benefit They're Real mascara and doubled this up with Sumptous Extreme Mascara by Estee Lauder. To finish the look, I applied a quite coat of the Pure Colour Gloss in the shade Tempting Tearose and then dabbed a little of the Barbara Daly Glow-Up highlighter on my cheek bones and into the corners of my eye, and a little over the gloss to get that dewy sheen. Next I used a little of the Sleek Contour Trio Highlighter over my cheek bones and below my eyebrows and talking of brows, filled them in using my Laura Mercier Brow Definer in Fair.
