August 03, 2014

I can't believe we're already in August and it's like 4 months until Christmas (I measure the year on how far it is still Christmas .. sad I know.) Well another month has passed us and another month of overly used products there is to blog about. This month I've been mainly discovering old favourites in my stash with the addition of 2 new products.

This month for me it's all been about ease. Since moving house I'm still not 100% settled and comfortable and also with the new 6am wakeup's, getting ready is not an ease thing. I love products that help me to look by best in no time and I feel this month's picks have really done that for me ...

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - I've had this baby for a long time now and when I first got it, I used this time and time again. You know how we all get with that new excitement for a new product which slowly diminishes when something newer and more exciting comes along. Considering the price tag for these palette's, I look at them now and again and think 'why don't I use that anymore ...' so this month I had enough and moved it into my 'current use' drawer. I'm so glad I did this. For an everyday eye look, I've been using Tease which is a soft brown matte shade and I smudge that into my crease line and a little over my lid. I then get a little Bootycall which is a soft ivory shade which has a little fleck of glitter to it and put that on the inner corners of my eyes, blended into Tease to give a soft smokey eye that wakes my whole face up. It's simple and if I want a little more definition, I get a little bit of Suspect which is another glittery shade but a darker version of Tease and put that right on the outer corners.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum - I managed to bag a sample of this on the Estee Lauder offer I picked up a while ago and was quite excited to give it a whirl. I've always heard glorious things about it but considering the price tag .. had been put off it. I've never been so glad to be able to trial a product ..... it's heaven. I love putting this on at night and in the morning too as it just gives me instant hydration, makes my skin feel and look amazing and is just a perfect product. I will be repurchasing this despite the price tag as soon as my sample runs out although it's still going strong now.

Benefit 'They're real' mascara - I've had this little sample size for a while now to the point where the wording on the packaging has basically all gone. That's what happens when you love a product so much and just put it in your travel bag everyday. When I first tried this mascara I wasn't a huge fan and didn't see the fuss but since the product had time to dry up a little, it's my new best friend. I actually find if I put a coating of this on just my top lashes, my whole makeup look looks 10 times better than if I use another mascara on my top and bottom lashes. I've been loving the top only lash look for a while now and it's due to this. I will be repurchasing again as soon as payday arrives.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - There's nothing much to say about this that you haven't already heard from other bloggers. I've loved this product for a long time but I was using my Estee Lauder disappear concealer since I got it on offer. To be honest though, It just felt a little too thick so I picked one of these at the beginning of the month for old times sake and well ... I've never looked back.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup in Ecru 1N2 - Again this was a product I fell in love with when I first got and used religiously after finally getting the correct shade for my skin. I didn't feel like it was quite holy grail status and I'm always looking for the next best thing so I put it aside and tried it's sister product the BB Cream which again I love. Although it's summer, something told me the other day to put this on as my skin was looking a little drab and ..... again I fell in love and can not put it down. I've actually been choosing this over the BB cream at the moment and especially for the gym. I know you shouldn't really wear makeup whilst working out but I can't quite brave a no makeup look yet. It's too early for me to be doing that ... I put a little layer of this on and my face looks gym ready. Even when I look in the mirror after an hour work out, everything is still there and fresh looking. It's literally the best foundation ever. It's finally reached 'holy grail' for me. That's it, I've said it now there's no going back.

L'oreal #TXT volume supersizing spray - I was really excited to try this product as I'm always looking for the perfect 'undone' look but without looking too dishevelled. This gives me the perfect amount of back combed looking hair but also gives you that beachy looking wave vibe. It doesn't go too tacky in your hair and gives you a matt looking texture so no shine. I love this product but I do have to wash my hair the same night otherwise if I sleep with the left over product in my hair, I wake up looking like i've been dragged through a hedge backwards. I usually blast this into my roots and massage it in a little to get the perfect back comb look but also I sometimes use this like a hair spray to keep things fixed and in place.

Halo Eye makeup remover pads - I actually bought these before I went camping as I couldn't be bothered to take cotton pads and an eye remover with me. Less hassle is always the key when on holiday for me. These pads remove mascara like a dream and especially since using They're Real mascara again, they've really come in handy. Not too much else to say except they're really great and so easy when you feel a little lazy at night time.

So there you have it, my July favourites. Have you tried any of the above products? What have you been loving this July?

Be sure to leave a comment below! Love from Lucky.
