There seems to be a new craze sweeping the blogosphere since Coachella and that is of course, metallic temporary tattoo's. Whilst I was shopping the aisles of Hobby Craft on holiday, I came across a packet of metallic temporary tattoo's and wanted to hop on the band wagon to see what all the fuss was about. At just £3.00 for a pack of 13 tattoos (You can shop them here) they seem to be one of the cheaper options around but then this did make me wonder about the quality. A lot of bloggers I've seen using temporary tattoo's from better brands such as Orelia or Topshop seem to get smoother results with them despite them being a thicker material than the old school temp tattoos we were used to as children. Orelia's offerings are between £5-£8 for various designs and Topshop's are around £6.50 per packet with a few designs in each pack, but you can pretty much pick these up anywhere at the moment, they really have gone global.

The Hobby Craft's designs themselves are pretty okay, they have some gorgeous designs such as the feathers which were a big hit at Coachella so you'd be pretty on par with those, whilst some of the other designs such as the swallow could have been worked on a little better. There are multi design options available on the website but not in store, this was the only packet available.

The designs as said above, are a little thicker than the temporary tattoos I used to remember but I think it's mainly the metallic itself. The black designs are actually really comfortable to wear and last quite a few days however I found the metallic tattoos despite being applied correctly and allowed to dry, did crease and could simply be peeled off. I'm not sure if this is just the Hobby Crafts versions fault or metallic tattoos in general but overall, I don't think I'm quite convinced of the craze. I did have fun trying out a few designs and wanted to see what it was like to have a tattoo on my wrist as I've just had my eyebrows tattooed (I will be blogging about that experience very soon once they have faded and healed) so am considering a small design either on my ankle or wrist.

If you are interested in this particular design you can shop them at Hobby Craft and all the other designs they have to offer here or you can check out Orelia's gorgeous designs at and Topshop's at
