August 13, 2015

This month, with the Birchbox reward system I got my August box completely free! YES FREE?! This was because I recommended two of my friends who signed up - just one of the perks of the Birchbox system. This is one of the many reasons you need to sign up to as well as the fact that currently if you sign up via my unique link, you get 50 points to spend in the estore and for every 100 points you get, you can swap this for £10.00 to spend in store! But on with the unboxing as this months box is AMAZING! Emoji heaven girls ..

This months theme is #beautyjunkie and is based around the fact that we all love beauty, and emojis of course. There's no escaping the fact that we all use emojis to communicate and love it, secretly. This month this Birchbox is filled to the brim with the latest and greatest in beauty treats, that no beauty junkie worth her perfectly-considered makeup bag would be without!

This month I was treated to 6 products and a little lifestyle bonus courtesy of this months theme so let's get on with the unboxing!

1. Rituals Fortune Scrub RRP £10.00 150ml - This product combines both exfoliating and cleansing all in one for your body so you no longer have to use two separate products. Thanks to this invigorating wash packed with Sweet Orange and Cedar Wood, you can get rid of dull skin and reveal fresh, beautifully scented skin all with just one handy tube. This is quite a generous sample at 70ml so you're getting just under half a full sizes tube. I can't wait to use this in the shower and I'm sure my boyfriend will give it a little test too.

2. Lord & Berry Blush in Lotus RRP £18.00 - This is only the 2nd product I have from Lord & Berry but praise the beauty god's, they do some gorgeous products. This blush in the shade Lotus is just further proof that if you have yet to try Lord & Berry, you should. Naturally flushed, rosy cheeks are the quickest way to your complexion from meh to woaaah. This shade is stated to be a 'suit all skin tones' but I know with my pale complexion, this works perfectly. The texture of the blusher feels almost silky and is so finely milled it's just heaven. The pigmentation is to die for so be careful with this, you only need a light dusting and the texture is matte. On my first application, I looked a bit like a clown! But this blush lasts all day long and I've had a few compliments since wearing it, I will be buying the full size for sure.

3.Huygens Exfoliating Cream RRP £17.90 - Yet again, we've been blessed with a Birchbox exclusive in our boxes and this time it comes in the form of an exfoliating cream. For a truly flawless base, this gentle daily use creamy scrub can be used to get rid of dull skin and helps to smooth and purify. This scrub has rice powder particles to slough away that nasty skin and you only need a coin-sized amount to achieve this. I have yet to test this out myself but it's on my bathroom side ready to use when I need a good exfoliation.

4. Kebelo Clarifying Shampoo RRP £13.95 - I love clarifying shampoos as a bit of an hair dye addict as they prep my hair ready for fresh dye so this Kebelo shampoo is a great addition to my collection. I'm currently loving the Boots own brand but this seems to be a great contender. When your hair is suffering from product build up or is just looking a little lack lustre, use this deep cleansing shampoo to detox your hair and scalp and will leave your tresses feeling soft and purified.

5. theBalm Cosmetics balm Dessert bronzer RRP £15.00 - Again, this is the 2nd product I have from theBalm and again, I love them. This cute little bronzer claims to wake up your complexion to create the kind of glow you only get from a week in the Bahamas. This fade resistant formula gives your skin a sun kissed, fresh faced glow that will last all day. I have yet to try this but I will be adding this to my makeup box to try and get some use out of and see if it's just as good as the blusher I have from them!

6. Formula 10.0.6 Overnight Success Spot Minimising Patches RRP £2.95 - Now when these came through I didn't really think much of them. I didn't also think there would be very many in the packet as it's only small but this contains 21 patches to help rid you of those horrid breakouts. These little gems are oval shaped see through stickers that are infused with Tea Tree and Grape Seed, you simply pop them on your breakouts for targeted treatment before bed, wake up and your breakouts are instantly reduced. They can be a little sticky in the morning so removal can be a bit tricky but I never thought I'd be a fan of something like this but I will be repurchasing. I've almost used the whole packet so I will be stocking up ..

And there you have it. What a month! If you're interested in signing up and receiving this August Box (and a sneaky £5.00 to spend in store!) head over to now to claim this offer and become a member today!
