I'm a huge fan of anything DIY or customisation so when DIWAH got in touch to see if I wanted to test out their design your own jewellery site, I jumped at the chance to make something really unique. If you've not heard of DIWAH before they are a jewellery company that allows you to design your own unique jewellery with semi-precious elements using on online facility. They also have ready to purchase statement pieces that can be customised if your unsure on what kind of creation you want to make. Each piece created is made by a dedicated member of the team at the UK Headquarters who use ethically sourced elements resulting in bespoke jewellery custom made for you. The online designer is a super simple and fun way to make your own piece of individual jewellery and every part of the process is interactive right down to when your jewellery is being made from screen to physical state. The team updates you with emails showing you photos of the item being made and letting you know when your unique hand crafted jewellery item is being dispatched.

Each uniquely made piece from DIWAH comes in beautiful gift wrapping consisting of a fuscia gift box, ribbons and even protective packaging to keep your piece safe. Inside you will also find a personal note from the maker of your jewellery which I think gives this the whole process such a personal and touching experience.

The process as I said is very simple and consists of 3 main steps -
STEP 1. Choose your template (there are 6 styles and lengths available)
STEP 2. Choose your components (there are a range of style collections to choose from)
STEP 3. Drag and Drop (it's as simple as finding the elements you like from your chosen collection and dragging them onto your template)

You can either start with a completely fresh template if you what a full 'make your own' experience or you can select from some of the pre made items and just customise them a little to suit your tastes. The are a range of price points to suit everyone's budget and you can create anything from a daily wearable piece to a super luxe special occasion item.

When my piece arrived I was super excited to get it out of the packaging and adorn my neck with my own uniquely made jewellery. I named my design 'LOVEFROMLUCKY' of course and wanted to give it a real punk rock vibe. I choose this hefty looking Quartz pendant to give my necklace a real statement look and added in some metal style elements and skulls to toughen it up.

Overall I am really happy with my necklace and the way it turned out. I was a little sad as when the necklace arrived, despite the protective packaging my necklace was actually broken but as I have dabbled in making jewellery before it was nothing I couldn't fix myself (one of the jump rings was just a little too open so I just grabbed some pliers and reattached and closed the jump ring) The only thing I did find with my creation was some of the elements such as the metal triangle detailing and the bead caps actually feel a little plastic-y in material but are made of metal. I just think they are a lighter and thinner metal but they should be okay as long as I take care of the necklace. However some of the details I was not expecting to be of high quality such as the skulls and quartz pendant are SUPERB quality. Even down to the main fastening of the necklace, the quality is actually quite shockingly good and the Quartz is one of the heaviest pendants I have seen in a long time.

With your jewellery you do also get a set of care instructions on a Care Card to keep your piece lasting as long as possible which just advises you to keep your piece aware from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures and chemicals to protect the semi precious elements from harm or damage. If you head to DIWAH's website and enter code my exclusive code LOVEFROMLUCKY30 you can receive 30% off of your first creation and make your own, truly unique piece that shows off your personality.
