Why hello again! 'Where have you been?!' some of you might be asking - it's a long story I may tell in my own time but for now - I am back and the sun is shining! I have recently been on a never ending path of self discovery and with that, re-analysing my current fashion style and choices of clothing. I have come to the conclusion you can NOT go wrong with a little bit of monochrome. Black is just such a flattering colour and suits everyone so I've trawled the net and stores for a few summer basics in my favourite hues and thought I'd share some with you.

These Black Curve Dungarees - New Look | £29.99 are perfect for the summer months. Although the black may become a tad hot (in the UK it's hard really for this to happen but still) I think they'd be super stylish dressed down with some sandals and a white sleeved tee or even dressed up with a white shirt and heels. Classic elegance and a 90's vibe all at once.

Summer months are perfect for getting your tootsies out and treating your feet to some fresh air. I've been hunting through the stores for some good basic sandals with a little flair and think these Black and Silver Strap Sandals - New Look | £17.99 would do just the job. I had some similar sandals last year with gold metallic detail and literally wore them to death. I also like these Chunky Black Leather Style Sandals - New Look | £24.99 for a little more of a sophisticated vibe. Heels you may scream - well these sort of heels are actually very comfortable and can be paired with a cute summer dress or even a culotte jumpsuit or teamed with jeans on a slightly cooler day to add some grown up vibes to any outfit.

This Stripe Shirt Dress - Boohoo | £22.00 is perfect for the summer - on cooler days it can be paired with jeans or leggings, even tights and on hot days due to the length, could be wore with bare legs! Teamed with sandals and a black fedora and you're hot to trot.

I fell in love with this Pattern Culotte Jumpsuit - Boohoo | £20.00 as soon as I spotted it on the Boohoo website. I had a similar one a few years ago and actually got so much wear from it - culotte jumpsuits are timeless and the all in one aspect makes your outfit choice much easier. This would also be the perfect piece to take you from day to night.  I'd team this with a long precious gem necklace and some black sandals and you could even chuck on a denim jacket to add some warmth. Voila!

For the more festival concious of you out there, this Contrast Ribbed Tshirt - Boohoo | £10.00 would be perfect teamed with some cut off denim shorts and black slip on trainers. If though the weather is a little wet - swap out the trainers for some wellies and add this Black and White Festival Rain Mac - Boohoo | £45.00. Stylish and practical, you'll be able to enjoy yourself and be safe in the knowledge you'll be protected from the rain.

Those are just a few of the monochrome beauties I have found - are you a monochrome lover or do you like to add a little bit of colour to your outfits?
